You can use other spice blends like garam masala, shawarma, Jamaican jerk, but I am digging the berbere profile right now. You can also use shredded hearts of palm to sub jackfruit. Or some shredded sweet potato or butternut. The baking time will be less with sweet potato like veggies.
No Extra pans sauteing or anything required. Just mix and spread.
Baked Yummyness, try to not eat it all.
Add to tacos, wraps, sandwiches. Add crunchy veggies and dressing. Yuhumm!
Easily gluten-free with corn tortillas. I use wheat tortillas made in Rotimatic.

These were absolutely delicious, perfect kick. My hubby loved them. I made the ranch dressing to top them. Thanks for your recipes.
So glad you liked it!
I forgot to rate the recipe in my last post.
5 Stars! Wow! Thank you!!
This recipe turned out great. Thank you for sharing! The jackfruit was spiced perfectly and had the right amount of heat. I didnโt have a 20 oz can of jackfruit, I only had a 14 oz can so I adjusted the spices accordingly (used roughly 2/3 of the measurements). I ended up roasting some chickpeas with the other 1/3 of the spices and threw that in the tacos too. I topped it with a homemade shredded cabbage coleslaw (Vegan) and cucumbers. It was delicious! I will definitely be keeping this recipe in rotation.
Thank you!! The crispy chickpeas are a perfect topping!!
You had me at 8 cloves of garlic PLUS garlic powder! This is a terrific and easy recipe. Serving it with ranch really balances out the spices.
I assumed the oil goes in with the spices and sauces when baking.
awesome! yes
I’m going in search for jack fruit. I must try this, it looks delicious.
What’s the best way to reheat the jackfruit mixture from refrigerated or frozen? Had to make it in advance but I don’t want to sacrifice that lovely texture this recipe achieves!
You can probably bake the mixture 5 mins less and then reheat on the oven, bake for 5 to 10 mins to crisp.
Can I use fresh dill for the easy vegan tzatziki? And if so, how much fresh dill?
