๐Ÿšซ๐Ÿฅœ Tips for Nut-Free Vegan Cooking

  • Make sure that your milk substitutes are nut-free. Choose oat or soy over almond milk, for example.
  • Seeds can be a great substitute for nuts! Sesame, pumpkin, sunflower, and hemp seeds can give you a nutty flavor without nuts. And you can use sunflower or pumpkin seed butter in place of nut butters in a lot of recipes.
  • When you’re cooking for someone with a nut allergy, make sure everything is clean to avoid cross-contamination. Cook the nut-free foods first, then store them before moving on to cooking with nuts.
  • Food manufacturers have to label products that contain nuts, so check food labels for nut ingredients. If you’re dealing with an allergy, you may also want to avoid shared equipment.
